It didn’t take long for us to realize: building a great catering company wasn’t just about what was on the plate—it was about who was in the room, how we worked together, and what we chose to learn along the way.

As Partyman grew, we began investing more intentionally in the things you don’t always see: the team culture, the behind-the-scenes logistics, and the creative exploration that keeps us inspired. We built traditions, refined our systems, and started dreaming beyond our own kitchens.

From remodeling projects to offsite adventures, here’s how we’ve stirred up something special behind the scenes.

Designed for Growth (and a Good Laugh)

Over the years, we’ve tackled major renovations and expansions to give our team the space they deserve. From adding trailers for storage to building out a second floor of office space in 2022, every square foot has been designed with our people and process in mind.

But some of our most powerful growth didn’t happen on-site—it happened on the road.

Through Partyman on the Road, our team has attended conferences, workshops, and culinary gatherings across the country—each one expanding our toolkit and our imagination. We’ve trained in Louisiana, soaking in the soulful roots of Southern cuisine. We’ve explored California’s innovative culinary scene, and studied hospitality systems in Florida and Colorado, learning from the very best in the business.

Each trip brought back new ideas, fresh inspiration, and a renewed sense of what’s possible. From flavor development to guest flow logistics, we’ve never stopped learning.

We also deepened our involvement in key professional communities—like MIBE (Make it Better Everyday) and Catersource, two organizations that continue to push our industry forward. Whether attending, volunteering, or contributing behind the scenes, we show up not just to learn but to share what makes Partyman, Partyman.

Growth Happens Here

We take growth and education seriously at Partyman Catering. While Joe was professionally trained in culinary arts, launching a business pushed him to master everything else through hard-earned experience, resourcefulness, and instinct. It was only through collaboration, experimentation, and the passion of early team members did we build the strong foundation we stand on today.

Now, that foundation makes room for every team member to grow, evolve, and thrive. Alongside hands-on experience and team support, we’ve also built intentional spaces for reflection and learning. One of our favorites? Lunch & Learns—calendar-marked gatherings where team members share impactful lessons, stories from conferences, or insights from years of experience over (you guessed it) a good meal.

One recent session was led by our Warehouse Coordinator, Kyle Sinclair, who spoke about his own path at Partyman—from event staff to kitchen team to his current leadership role—and the importance of finding your best fit. His words stuck with us: “It’s not always about being in the wrong company—it’s about finding the right seat within it.”

That mindset is something we live by. Many of our staff started in one role and discovered their true strengths in another. It’s why so many of our current leaders began in entry-level positions—and why we champion internal movement and mentorship at every level.

Because when we say we bring top-of-the-line experiences to your events, we mean it—from plate to playbook.

Traditions Worth Keeping

Some of the most beloved parts of our company culture are the small, intentional rhythms that keep us connected. These aren’t just perks—they’re part of our DNA.

• Team Lunch – First Monday of every month, where we celebrate employee anniversaries and birthdays and announce the Monthly MIBE Award winner.
• Cheers & Chill – Every third Thursday, we gather after work for a round of drinks, laughter, and low-key bonding.
• Team Building – Our department teams take turns planning creative, high-energy activities that shake things up and build trust across the board.

These rhythms create space for recognition, reflection, and just plain fun—because a team that plays together works better together.

Values in Action

Our core values (shouted out back in Issue I: Who We Are Today) show up in everything we do—and we make it a point to spotlight the moments when they shine brightest.

• Team members earn Partyman Bucks when they go above and beyond, which can be cashed in for rewards at their discretion.
• We host weekly Core Value Shoutouts to highlight moments of excellence.
• Each year, we name six standout employees who best embodied each value over the course of the year.

Back to Class, Always in Session

As the school year kicks off, it feels fitting to tip our hats to the learners, the leaders, and the lifelong students on our team. At Partyman, education is never over. Our kitchen notebooks are never closed. And we’re always hungry for what’s next.

Whether it’s improving a recipe, upgrading our systems, or lifting each other up—we know growth isn’t a phase. It’s a promise.
